Holly Hunter, an American actor and producer, is known for her acclaimed roles in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The movie Piano earned her numerous awards which included an Oscar. At a young age, the accomplished actress began performing on stage in various Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. As a child, Helen Keller was her favourite character in a fifth year play. When she was in the fifth grade following a bout of mumps, she lost hearing in the left ear. But she didn't let that stop her. After studying drama in college after which she relocated in New York City with her ambitions with her sights set. Hunter was stuck in an elevator with the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. After moving into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to land film roles. The role of a supporting actress was secured in Swing Shift. Since then Holly Hunter has been involved in numerous TV shows and movies. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actor and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
